Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop is Dead Rising Wii
Written by SN at 04:22:40 PM, 22nd July 2008
|
Dead Rising, one of the original Xbox 360 release titles and unrelated-yet-exceptionally-close-videogame-cousin-of-the-film Dawn of the Dead, is bringing it's zombie-themed, open-ended, action-game to Nintendo Wii. Also, the new version comes with the suitable shopping-mall-themed monicker "Chop Til You Drop", hence becoming Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop.
Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop follows the story of over-zealous reporter, Frank West, as he hunts for a great scoop inside the zombie-infested Wilamette shopping mall.
The Wii Resident Evil 4 engine will be updated with the sword-swinging, gun-shooting, shower-tap-fitting-to-zombie-head gameplay mechanics of the original Dead Rising and with Wii-waggle to boot. Chop Til You Drop will also address the one of the major, frustration-inducing issues found with the original Dead Rising by providing a new save system that will provide for seamless play, rather than force players to run miles round the mall in search of an inconveniently placed toilet.
Stay tuned for more details to come.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars review tries befriending GamingSA
Written by SN at 10:44:27 AM, 15th July 2008

If you've been playing Call of Duty 4 since November last year and have been wanting an alternative competitive multiplayer first-person shooter and have toyed with the idea of picking up Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, don't. Get Battlefield: Bad Company, instead. For those who have just rocked up to the console show and are looking for a good multiplayer shooter, get Call of Duty 4 or Battlefield: Bad Company. While ETQW might have chalked up to be a good, possibly great, PC shooter, which admittedly was carried far by the strong back of it's Quake license, something was lost in the console translation. Something rather important. Something like an audience. I'll get back to this most important point later, though, and focus critically on the gameplay.
